Sesame Vinegar Dressing
Sesame seeds are a great source of polyunsaturated fats and known to provide super strength. They are many ways to incorporate this in our daily food.
Best way to utilize the nutrition of this seed is toasting them, slightly tricky but very easy to tackle. Salad are best with some kind of dressing, sometimes the benefits of salad are out-weighted by the ingredients found on the store-bought dressings. I try to minimize buying any processed food in my kitchen. Thanks to my teenage kids and always supporting husband for putting up with my food experiments. Every day is yet a new experiment here:
What you need?
Sesame seeds - 1/4 cup
Olive Oil - 2 Tbsp
Apple Cider Vinegar - 4 Tbsp
Salt, Pepper to taste
Honey - 1 Tbsp
Water - 1/2 cup
Garlic powder - 2 tsp (optional)
How to make?
- Heat the pan preferably with a long handle in medium heat and keep a lid ready. Add sesame seeds, they will pop, lower the heat and gently toss the pan to move the seeds around. Be careful with the lid and the handle.
- Transfer the popped seeds to a bowl and let it cool for 5-10 mins
- Add rest of the ingredients to a blender and blender them until smooth. You can adjust the consistency by adding few more Tbsp of water.
