Oven Roasted Peanuts just like that street side vendor
We are a huge peanut fans, the smell of peanuts roasted in the sand by the street side vendors is a nostalgic memory of our childhoods. Both myself and my husband love it. Whenever we travel to India, we get at least a few pounds of roasted peanuts and many times it has crossed customs too. But only sad thing would be it goes rancid within 2-3 weeks. We tried roasting them over the stove top but it never tasted the same until this experiment succeeded.
Smaller peanuts are healthier than the big ones since the big peanuts are typically high in fat content and used to make peanut butter.
Recipe is super simple,
What you need?
Raw peanuts - 4 cups
salt to taste
How to make?
Just wash the raw peanuts in a colander and once most of the water is drained, toss them into a mixing bowl, add required amount of salt and stir well. Its okay for it to have little bit of water.
Preheat oven to 300F
Spread the peanuts in a baking sheet evenly and bake for about 35-40 mins. In the middle, turn around the baking sheet for even baking.
